Jai Sikotar Maa Temple, also known as Vahanvati Mata Temple, is located near the sea in Ralej village, about 7 kilometers from Khambhat. Sikotar Mata is considered the goddess of the sea and is especially worshipped by the maritime community.  This temple has a rich history and is an important pilgrimage site for devotees. According to local legends, Sikotar Mata protects her devotees, especially those traveling by sea. She is depicted riding a horse, symbolizing her readiness to help her followers. During Navratri, a huge festival is held at Maa Sikotar. Therefore, Navratri is the best time to visit Sikotar Mata Temple. Ann Kshetra is held every Sunday and on the full moon day. Sikotar Maa Temple was built around 950 years ago, when Khambhat was known as Trimbavathi Nagari. If you are a lover and admirer of ancient art, architecture and culture then you can also visit the Borsad Stepwell located at Borsad in Anand district of Gujarat in India. It was built in 1497 by Vasu Soma and his family. It is seven story stepwell and has 13 arches. The water is reached by flight of steps.It is Monument of National Importance (N-GJ-69) protected by Archeological Survey of India.(Source: Wikipedia,2025).
